Welcome to 715 Sherman-Kramer School

Built in 1895 the Kramer School started out as Little Rock's first brick and mortar schoolhouse. In 1905 the Little Rock High School, that we now call Lofts at SoMa, was built and the Kramer school turned into a primary and middle school. The Kramer School continued to operate through the 1950s, but eventually fell into disrepair. In 1996, well-meaning developers totally restored the building with the hopes of creating an artist colony. Unfortunately, over the years, the building began to fall back into disrepair, then eventually went into foreclosure. Downtown Dwellings bought the building out of foreclosure in 2015 and began replacing all major systems and upgrading the interiors. Today, you will find tall ceilings, lots of light and windows, large open concept spaces for common rooms, washers & dryers in all units, as well as energy efficient HVAC systems and a solar grid to help power the building. One major perk of living at The Kramer School is that all major utilities (except internet) are included in your rent!
